Listening may seem a simple skill, but it’s an often under-used one. Often in conversations we’re not really listening to the other person speak – we’re waiting for them to finish so we can talk.
Sometimes we think we are showing that we are listening by relaying a similar experience or sharing our interpretation of what the other person has said. And there are occasions where this is the perfect response. But sometimes, all of us just want to be heard – without being fixed, or advised.

We understand the notion of holding grudges against other people, but we also tend to hold grudges against ourselves as well. We should have the courage to accept who we are as this is the only way we can have the courage to break our mental barriers. It is very important for us to realize in order to push our limits. Believe in ourselves, that is the only way forward.

Learn something straight out of a tae kwon do lesson: your elbow is undoubtedly the strongest part on your entire body. If you ever find yourself in a battle with an attacker, don’t be afraid to use your elbow if you’re close enough to do so!

Sometimes it seems easier to love others than it does to love yourself, but self-acceptance is an important part of developing healthy relationships with others. Luckily, with a little practice and patience, we can learn to love ourselves, too. If we can learn to love ourselves, we will be much happier and will learn how to best take care of ourselves.
